Guest Blog from Anna – past Intern
Anna shares her experience of being an Intern here in Cape Town. Anna was part of the Soup Kitchen Feeding Scheme, as well as the Aftercare Programme in Salt River earlier this year. She came to African Sunrise from Sweden, and had a really amazing experience, where she got to know the Homeless People in Salt River and Observatory, and really made a huge impact on their lives. She still keeps in touch with them, as well as with all of us, and we really hope to see her again one of these days!

“Oh how I miss Cape Town!
The people, the laughter, the musik, the food and the amazing nature!
I went there to do my internship for two months. I am studying to become a social worker.
I fell in love with this town the moment we met smiley
There is a warmth that I can’t describe. A lot of joy even when there is little.
I have seen some hard things. The kids that lives on the street, poverty, drugs and other problems.
To see the work that people do, people that now is close friends of mine, to help them in need is heartwarming.
I was working in a soup kitchen, giving food to the people who lives in the streets or people that just don’t have enough money for food. Everyone is welcome.
I have learned a lot about my self, and that I can do a lot for someone just by showing them love and listen to their story.
To be a part of the work Arfican Sunrise is doing makes me proud!
I can recommend you to go and make a change for you’re self and someone else. Just take the change and go, it will be worth it!! You will meet lovely people with they’re heart on the right place heart
You will have the chance to grow, to be stronger and to meet a lot of love and happiness. heart
